The 2009/2010 season was the Eagles fifth season and after missing out on promotion last season by 1 point, they knew that that could not expect anything less than promotion this season.
Joining our division this season were 7 new teams that included North Kent Rangers and Orpington Rovers who had been relegated from the 4th division the previous season and 5 other new teams that had joined the league.
August / September
During August the Eagles started their pre-season friendlies in which they entered a pre-season 8 team tournament that they finished a respectable losing semi finalist in against a number of teams in higher divisions than themselves. The pre-season games also gave the gaffa chance to look at some new players who eventually joined the team - Dean Feasey, James Whiffin and James Moggridge.
The Eagles were also runners up in the Petts Wood 6 a-side tournament.
The league got underway in September and the Eagles opening league game was against one of the relegated teams from last season - North Kent Rangers, and it was a start the Eagles weren't expecting losing 2-0 at home. The Eagles quickley forgot this and won the next to games 3-1 and 7-0 which was the Eagles biggest ever win.
October / November
The next two months defined the Eagles season as they notched up a run of 7 wins to follow the 2 in September and recorded 6 clean sheets as they showed the league that they were the team to beat. By November it started to look like a race to the title between 3 teams - Bromley Eagles, North Kent Rangers and Lullingstone.
December / January
it was a baron two months as the bad weather came and the Eagles only played one game beating a new side Keaston Phoenix in a very close match 3-2
February / March
The second half of the season in Eagles history has always seen them struggle and this season was no different, but this year it could have been down to 1 game in two months affecting our rythmn. The Eagles only recording 4 wins and 2 draws from there 7 games as they let the oppostion close the gap at the top of the league
April / May
April started with a crunch game against title rivals Lullingstone knowing a win would knock Lulligstone out of the running and the Eagles delivered the goods winning 2-1. The Eagles followed that up with a 5-0 win over Paul Birch Reserves and finished April with a match against their only other title rivals - North Kent Rangers. A win would mean the Eagles were champions, a draw and they would only need 2 points to win the title from there final 2 games, defeat and they would have to take all 6 points from their remaining 2 games. In a very close match the Eagles did enough getting a draw against NKR.
Not wanting to make it easy they then got a draw in their next match against Eagles United meaning they needed just a point on the last day of the season which dispite going down to 10 men after 15 minutes they went on to win 4-2 and win the trophy they had been after for the last 5 years!!!
It has been a very successful season in which on route to winning the league they set an impressive 11 home game unbeaten run, and had 11 clean sheets in 24 games, both of these were better than any other team in all 7 divisions.
At the end of the season the Eagles had there regular presentation night in which the following awards were handed out:

Runner up - Adam Smith
